Research Seminar

The research Seminar offers an opportunity to present latest research results or to discuss topics from the area of differential geometry (and nearby areas) which are of general interest to our institute.

Students are very welcome to attend!

We meet on Thursdays at 14:00.

All talks take place at LUH in Seminarraum 016, Callinstraße 23 (Gebäude 3110).

Winter semester 2022/23

This semester we are experimenting a new format for our research seminar. It will be a common seminar between all members of our institute. The idea is to introduce an advanced topic, from the point of view of students, and try to motivate the postdocs and PhD students (or whoever wants) to find common research problems of interest. We have decided then that a good general ground would be a seminar on the Lagrangian Mean Currvature Flow. The plan is to speak about the classical paper of Lawson and Harvey on Calibrated geometries, use K. Smoczyk's Survey on the Mean Curvature Flow and do some further reading on papers about LMCF, to be chosen during the course according to the interest of the audience.

EVERY STUDENT is really encouraged to come, regardless of their background in Geometry or in Analysis.

Organizers: the postdocs
